The Chicago Social Drinking Project is an ongoing, paid research study under the direction of Dr. Andrea King at the University of Chicago. The study examines the effects of alcohol and other common substances (stimulants like caffeine, sedatives like antihistamines) on the moods and behaviors of social drinking young adults.
We are currently seeking participants to enroll in the study:
Heavy social drinkers (drink alcohol at least 2 times per week)
Age 23-29
Available to complete study screening and sessions during weekday afternoons

$10 Gift Card for attending screening session (~2 hrs)
$150 for completing 2 experimental sessions (~4 hrs/each)

VA researchers are recruiting for a research study for learning about medical treatments for smokers. Testing is at the VA in West Los Angeles. This is NOT a quit smoking study. The study consists of 3 visits that occur within the first 2 weeks of the study with 2 follow-up visits at 6 and 12 months. Each visit is up to 2 hours in length. You are compensated for each visit. All subjects will take questionnaires at each visit but ½ of the participants are assigned to learning about smoking medications by computer and ½ are assigned to reading magazines and materials unrelated to the treatments.
