We are seeking Male and Females, ages 21-40, who have been or who are currently in the military and have received a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for a paid research study of an FDA-approved cranial stimulation device for its ability to relieve some of the symptoms associated with PTSD.
The study involves 11 consecutive weeks from recruitment to follow-up, with 3 weeks of treatment, 3 weeks of no treatment or washout, another 3 weeks of treatment and then follow-up a week later. Each treatment session lasts about 20 minutes and another 20 minutes are needed to fill out some questionnaires. A total of three (3) MRI studies are also included.
The study is being conducted by researchers at the McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA; all treatments and MRI assessments are done there.
Participants can earn up to a maximum of $675 for the entire study.

Feeling depressed or have been diagnosed with depression? Our facility is conveniently located for both New York and New Jersey volunteers in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and easily accessible by public transit, just across from the George Washington Bridge. The aim of this research is to identify brain, cognitive and genetic markers that predict treatment response to 3 antidepressant medications. Depressed volunteers will be assigned to one of three medications. This research is for male or female individuals who are: - 18-65 years of age - Diagnosed with major depressive disorder and no recent use of antidepressant medication - Whose primary language is English You will be required to satisfy research criteria and attend a medical screening and clinical assessment before being permitted to participate in the research. While your brain activity is being measured via non-invasive brain-mapping methods, you will be asked to perform various tasks (e.g. focused attention, memory recall, etc.). You will also be asked to provide a blood sample, and answer questions about your medical history. The procedures will involve TWO 3-5 hour testing sessions and additional 10 minute phone and internet follow-up sessions. You will be compensated for your time and participation in this study. $100 Paid Clinical Study - Ages 18-55 with OCD

We are looking for people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) to participate in a research study sponsored by the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH.
This study aims to identify markers of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that are not direct symptoms of OCD. Specifically, we measure how much someone blinks in response to a loud, startling noise (a method for measuring something called pre-pulse inhibition), and we give you several computer tasks. All information will be kept completely confidential.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:
• Persons between the ages of 18 and 55 who have OCD as their primary problem and are not currently on any psychiatric medications or hormonal birth control may be eligible.
• Subjects must be able to travel to the New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University at 1051 Riverside Drive (at 168Street) in Manhattan and must not be pregnant.
COMPENSATION FOR PARTICIPATION:
There are no direct benefits to participating in this study, therefore, subjects are compensated $100 and one $10 Metrocard upon completion of one visit.
PROCEDURES:
1. Screening by phone.
2. If potentially eligible, a psychiatric and medical evaluation (including urine test) and clinical assessments to confirm eligibility (time estimate of 2 hours).
3. If eligible, a PPI test and computer tasks (4 hours)
This is not a part-time job. Compensation is being provided for participation in a research study.

VA researchers are recruiting for a research study for learning about medical treatments for smokers. Testing is at the VA in West Los Angeles. This is NOT a quit smoking study. The study consists of 3 visits that occur within the first 2 weeks of the study with 2 follow-up visits at 6 and 12 months. Each visit is up to 2 hours in length. You are compensated for each visit.
